Bebb's Oval Sedge forms neat, well-behaved clumps rather than spreading aggressively, making it one of the easiest native sedges for garden rain gardens and bioswales.
Its deep, fibrous root system acts as a natural water filter, trapping sediment and absorbing pollutants from stormwater runoff before it reaches waterways.
The plant is named after Michael Schuck Bebb (1833–1895), a self-taught American botanist who became one of the world's leading experts on willows.
